In a recent Washington Post‘s article the National Hurricane Center was quoted saying, “Nate is forecast to reach the northern Gulf Coast this weekend as a hurricane, and the threat of direct impacts from wind, storm surge, and heavy rainfall is increasing. However, it is too early to specify the exact timing, location, or magnitude of these impacts.”
The storm has already caused strong winds and rainfall in Nicaragua and Honduras. It is projected to strengthen over today and tomorrow as it continues moving up towards the Gulf. As of now, landfall in the US is projected to be around Louisiana and Alabama. You can follow up and read more about the developing storm over at JIT Re’s blog covering further developments.
